Clinical Features

  • Soft tissue mass at extracranial location
  • Often scalp, orbit, or paraspinal
  • Usually slow growing

Imaging

MRI: enhancing soft tissue mass with meningothelial features

Pathology

  • Meningothelial whorls and psammoma bodies
  • EMA positive
  • SSTR2A positive

Genetics

NF2 mutations in some cases

Treatment

Surgical excision

Prognosis

  • Excellent for benign lesions
  • Rare malignant transformation
